Kelly Maw Fine Art – Established August 2024.

My home studio in Cameron is a beautiful balance of solitude and community. My private gallery and workspace allow me a quiet, well lit space where I can immerse myself in my creative flow. I paint with acrylic and watercolour and often add a playful twist with layers, words and texture. Additionally laughter and creative energy brings my house alive at My Kitchen Table where I hold weekly paint lessons for aspiring artists.

The painting attached is from my body of work ‘Celebrate Your Passions’ and is called ‘Hands of Gratitude’. It is a multi-layered mixed media acrylic piece that explores the bond between emergency responders and the community they protect. I love creating art that tells a deeper story as you get closer to the image. This one has words of gratitude embedded into the hands. It signifies a feeling of safety that is provided for us when we need it most. ‘Hands of Gratitude’ creates a narrative that evokes a visceral sense of heorism as your eyes see our first responders bravely fighting fire and at the same time extending a hand to those in need. The heroic tradition and the human connection that holds our community together is what inspired me to create ‘Hands of Gratitude’.

I am excited to participate in my first VC Studio Tour and look forward to opening my doors to my community. I believe art is a shared experience so whether you are a collector or a curious student | welcome you to get to know the artist Behind the Easel at my home studio in Cameron.
