Established: 2014 (I returned to painting after a 27-year hiatus in which I pursued photography).

Describes my process because: While I previously executed a picture using a single medium, I’m moving away from that, and this piece is an example. It’s a mixed media piece, incorporating acrylic and my preferred medium, pastel. It also uses a mixture of realistic treatment and more abstract elements, an example of my moving away from strictly representational treatments.

Anyone that inspired me: I continue to draw inspiration from the pastels of Degas, and the masterful drawing of Robert Liberace.

Years participating in tour: 2026 is my first year.

Participating in the tour means to me: The tour will provide me an opportunity to extend exposure of my work to a larger audience, and allow me to display, at one time, a larger number of my pieces, compared to other art shows.

I paint in oil, acrylic and mixed media, but pastel is my favourite medium. And my preferred subject is people, both portraits and figure work.
