Artist Statement
My art is called wooden Intarsia. It is the art of cutting, shaping, and texturizing many different species of wood to create a picture like a jigsaw puzzle.
Some of the species of wood that I use are quite interesting. Such as Nogal (Peruvian Walnut), Bloodwood, African Padauk, Pau Amerillo & Australian Lacewood.
I also use many local woods, such as White Spruce, Western Red Cedar, Eastern White Cedar, Aromatic Cedar.
