Artist Statement

Jan Anderson finds inspiration in Canada’s natural beauty and in the journeys of Canadian women especially Indigenous Women and children. Research and observation motivates the creation of original fibre art wall hangings and quilts.

Jan’s mission is to have her unique art evoke thought, create conversation, and have her work be a source of inspiration to others. The piece creates a story that is posted with the art in her gallery. Other times research or a story will create the piece. The passion to create and share stories provides many new works for each studio tour.
