Artist Statement
I am a graduate of Sheridan College School of Design, and opened my pottery studio here in Trent Lakes, in 2004. I work in stoneware, raku, and smoke fire. During the summer I fire outdoors in the raku kiln I built myself.
I make dinnerware, urns, sculpture, and stoneware landscapes. My small pieces include buttons, shawl pins and Xmas ornaments. My work is all hand built.
I live on rugged land in the Kawartha Lakes region. This gives me a peace and quiet, and inspires my work.
I have struggled with disability for years. It limits my output, but has made me a stronger artist. My main intent is to create a body of work that is vital and graceful.
